Nominations for the 2025 We Are Brimbank Awards are now open.

The awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional contributions of our local community leaders, residents, businesses, and community groups across our municipality.
Reflecting on her own experience of kindness from others, Brimbank Mayor Cr Thuy Dang knows the impact these actions can have on the lives of others.
“There are so many examples of people, groups and businesses doing good works across Brimbank. We Are Brimbank Awards are our way of recognising these valued community members and saying thank you,” says Mayor Cr Dang.
“My own experience of this as a refugee was what motivated me to run for election for Brimbank City Council. You never truly know what impact you might be having on someone, or the community, when you do something positive for others.”
We Are Brimbank Award categories include:
- Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year
- Arts, Culture or Tourism
- Community Engagement
- Environment or Sustainability
- Sports and Wellbeing and,
- Community Group of the Year
In most categories, individuals as well as groups who have positively impacted our community and inspired others through their exceptional dedication and service.
“Anyone can nominate for the We Are Brimbank Awards. Nominations can be made online, and winners are celebrated at a special event hosted by Council in May as part of our Volunteer week celebrations. If you are thinking of nominating, don’t hesitate. Please nominate today,” says Mayor Cr Dang.
If you know of a project, organisation, community group or community leader in Brimbank that deserves to be recognised, we’d love you to nominate them by completing the online form on Council’s website at brimbank.vic.gov.au/waba.
