Nominations are now open for the 2026 We Are Brimbank Awards, inviting the community to recognise local leaders, residents, businesses and community groups who have made a difference in Brimbank.
Brimbank Mayor Cr Virginia Tachos has been inspired by past nominations and is looking forward to this year’s awards.
“It’s inspiring to see so many remarkable people investing their time and energy to make Brimbank a better place. Whether they’re helping families in need, cleaning up the community or creating inclusive spaces, their efforts build connection, safety, and belonging – and deserve recognition,” Mayor Cr Tachos said.
“If you know of a person or project that makes you feel proud to live in Brimbank, consider making a nomination for the 2026 We Are Brimbank Awards. The We Are Brimbank Awards are a wonderful way to recognise people’s good work in the community.”
Each year, the calibre of nominations highlights the many strengths of the Brimbank community. If someone’s actions have impressed you, consider nominating them for an award.
Categories include:
- Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year
- Arts, Culture and Tourism
- Community Engagement
- Environment and Sustainability
- Sports and Wellbeing and,
- Community Group of the Year
In most categories, you can nominate individuals as well as groups who have positively impacted our community and inspired others through their exceptional dedication and service.
“Nominations can be made online and winners will be announced at a special event hosted by Council in May as part of our National Volunteer week celebrations. If you are thinking of nominating, don’t hesitate. Please nominate today,” said Mayor Cr Tachos.
