Our Festive Fun Day celebration on Sunday 30 November was an absolute smash hit, and Council would love to thank everyone who joined the fun!
Even the wet weather didn’t dampen spirits and we were thrilled to welcome around 3,250 community members who came out to enjoy the festive spirit at Errington Reserve in St Albans.
The day was bursting with energy, featuring a fantastic mix of free, fun-filled, hands-on activities for all ages.
Fun for everyone
It was wonderful to see our community come together and enjoy the celebrations.
From face painting and a giant bubble entertainer to arts, crafts, roaming performers, 360 video booth and roaming photo booth, snapshots with Santa and Elf, an animal nursery with Farmer Darryl, and even a barber offering fresh haircuts — there was no shortage of crowd-pleasers! Two free movie screenings added to the excitement, rounding out a day full of festive favourites.
The main stage showcased a wide variety of acts, including our local Damo Music for Kids, Australian Vietnamese Arts and Culture group, Mother of God Primary School Choir, Dance 4 All, Pacific Island Creative Arts Australia Choir, David Smile Dance, and of course, Santa himself.
Plenty of workshops were offered — ranging from Art and Craft with the Aunties, hot shots tennis, Melbourne Renegades cricket, breakdancing, African drumming, Yoga, Tai Chi, and Zumba. There was truly something for everyone!
The Sensory Lounge provided a peaceful, inclusive retreat for anyone needing a quiet moment, ensuring that all visitors could enjoy the day comfortably.
Emergency services also attended — including Police, SES, and the St John Ambulance CPR Lab — along with a range of Council services and programs including representatives from Libraries, Leisure, Youth Services, Community Care, Playgroups, First Nations unit, Environment team, Volunteering unit, Neighbourhood Houses, Community Engagement, Animal Management, to name a few.
The day wrapped up as a vibrant, fun-filled festive celebration that our whole community could celebrate and enjoy.
