Adult Learners Week 1-8 September 2024

Brimbank is excited to join the global celebration of UNESCO’s Adult Learners Week from 1-8 September with events and activities throughout the week at Brimbank Libraries, Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres. This annual campaign shines a spotlight on the importance of lifelong learning and offers an opportunity to discover new interests and skills.

This year’s lineup includes sessions on topics such as food nutrition, growing and cooking, and practical advice on preparing for the age pension. For those with a creative streak, workshops in the creative industries will also be available. Each session is designed to offer practical knowledge and skills that you can take home and build upon.

In addition to the events, Brimbank will also highlight Local Learner Stories. These 12 inspiring stories celebrate the achievements of community members learning success with existing programs that are available for you to enrol in too! Keep an eye out for these stories to see how learning has transformed lives right here in Brimbank.

The Brimbank Lifelong Learning Strategy recognises that learning occurs continuously throughout life. By learning, you become more resilient and able to respond to our changing world by developing your skills and knowledge. And we get stronger as a community as a result. Happy learning.
