Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre – it’s official!

Construction of Brimbank’s new health and wellbeing hub in Keilor Downs is taking shape swimmingly.

And it’s official!  Your exciting new facility has been named the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre.

The ‘green’ credentials of this state-of-the art health and wellbeing hub are impressive. The centre will contain the first all-electric aquatic centre in Australia, cutting energy use by up to 80 per cent.

It’s on target to be built to achieve a minimum 5-star Green Star rating, and is expected to use up to 80 per cent less energy than traditional aquatic centres.

Shifting away from traditional gas boilers used to heat and cool water and air at other aquatic centres, the centre will instead install an all-electric heat-pump system.  It will also use an 88 thousand litre hot water storage system that acts as a big ‘thermal battery’, and 500 kW of solar panels.

The new centre boasts a 50 metre, 10 lane swimming pool, two massive water slides, wellness centre, 24 hour gym, community program room and more.

The Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre is on budget and the project is currently on schedule but may be impacted by COVID-19 restrictions relating to the construction sector.

Soon you can register your interest for memberships, swimming lessons, facility hire, partnerships and job opportunities.
