The names of 11 community members elected to the Brimbank City Council have been announced, after the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared the results of the 2024 Local Government elections today (11 November 2024.)
The following councillors-elect will represent the City of Brimbank over the next four years:
Albanvale Ward – Victoria Borg
Cherry Creek Ward – Kim Thien Truong
Copernicus Ward – Maria Kerr
Delahey Ward –Katharine Nikolic
Grasslands Ward – Thuy Dang
Harvester Ward – Daniel Kruk
Horseshoe Bend Ward – Virginia Tachos
Kororoit Creek Ward – Lucy Nguyen
Mount Derrimut Ward – Joh Bauch
Organ Pipes Ward – Ranka Rasic
St Albans East Ward – Duyen Anh Pham
Seven of the 11 councillors were part of previous councils, and there are nine female and two male councillors. The 11 councillors-elect have been voted in by the community from a pool of 61 candidates.
Brimbank City Council CEO Fiona Blair extended congratulations to the new councillors.
“It is both an honour and a tremendous responsibility to be voted to represent the best interests of the community.
“As Chief Executive Officer, it will be my pleasure to work with the new Council this term.
“Together we can build a transformed Brimbank that is beautiful, thriving, healthy and connected – a city that is a great place to live, work and grow,” CEO Blair said.
The Councillors-elect will be officially sworn in on Wednesday 13 November at 6pm.
The Mayoral election will be held on Wednesday 20 November at 6pm and will be live streamed.
