Brimbank steps up for Clean Up Australia Day

Residents, schools, community and corporate groups have stepped up for Clean Up Australia Day in Brimbank this year.

The annual event was held on Sunday 5 March. Thank you to more than 800 residents who took part in 30 clean-up activities around Brimbank. There were three corporate groups, 15 community groups and 12 schools who volunteered their time to clean up the local environment.

It was great to see individuals, families, schools and community groups hosting events, including the Friends of Kororoit Creek, Sunshine Heights Cricket Club, Overnewton Parent Sustainability Group, and the Lions Club of Taylors Lakes. A few activities will take place later in the month, including a Clean-up at Sunshine Heights Primary School.

Let’s all do our bit!

Rubbish dumping and littering harms our environment and the wildlife who call our open spaces home. We can all do our bit by responsibly disposing of our unwanted items, recycling, and creating less waste!
