Brimbank Writers & Readers Festival 2023 – Call for Expressions of Interest

The Brimbank Writers & Readers Festival (BWRF) is an annual event that encourages a love of reading and literature, celebrates creativity and diversity, and promotes lifelong learning in Brimbank.

The ten-day program of workshops, author talks, panel discussions, creative & professional writing, storytelling and more is free of charge for the community.

In 2023 the festival will celebrate its 18th year and is set to take place from 16-25 March 2023, and we would like to invite the Brimbank community to be involved in the program.

What are we looking for?

We are scheduling two events involving community:

1. A panel discussion or author talk for up to three authors or emerging writers to showcase their published work.

Open to those who:

  • Live, work or study in Brimbank, or are connected to the area
  • Aged 15 years or above
  • Have had a piece of work published

2. An open event, for individuals and community groups, which could include: a workshop, a spoken word performance, a public reading, a book launch or an exhibition.

Open to individuals or community groups (unincorporated associations) who:

  • Live, work or study in Brimbank, or are connected to the area
  • Have a specific event relating to writing, reading or storytelling
  • Will support the planning and delivery of the event.
