The Victorian Seniors Festival is back this October, with Brimbank hosting a vibrant and jam-packed program of free and low-cost activities for people aged 60 and over.
Seniors Festival is a month-long celebration of active ageing, community participation and social connection, that encourages older residents to get involved.
This year’s theme – Connect, Create, Celebrate – invites older Victorians to come together, discover new interests and celebrate.
Some of the program highlights include:
- Sylvia Plath Stole My Boyfriend, an autobiographical play by 95-year-old comedian Liz Hicklin
- Strings, Sing and Beat, a day of music, theatre and culture at the Bowery Theatre
- Tai chi in Brimbank’s favourite parks and reserves
- Social pickleball, walking football, social badminton and walking basketball every week at Keilor Basketball Netball Stadium
- Baking and conversation with the Country Women’s Association at A Taste of Tradition
- Basket-weaving workshop with Indigenous artist Teena Moffatt
- Sound Connection Silent Disco, a dance experience for older people with a disability
- Art therapy and sound meditation workshops
- Fly casting with the Sunshine Fly Casting Club

Who’s eligible
Events are open to anyone over the age of 60, and First Nations people aged 50 years and over. Bookings are essential for most events, so get in quick!

Free public transport for Seniors Card holders
As part of the Victoria Seniors Festival, Victorian Seniors Card holders can also enjoy 9 days of free public transport across Victoria from 3 to 11 October 2026. This includes all metropolitan public transport services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services outside the myki area.
