Brimbank’s Sunshine and St Albans Place Management Programs have secured funding through the Victorian Government’s Multicultural Business Precinct Revitalisation Program for place-based improvement projects in Sunshine and St Albans.
Brimbank Mayor Cr Virginia Tachos welcomed the announcement, saying:
“Brimbank is a proudly one of the most multicultural and diverse municipalities in Victoria.
“We are thrilled to have secured $630,000 in from the Victorian Government’s Multicultural Business Precinct Revitalisation Program for improvement projects in Sunshine and St Albans.
“Funding includes $220,000 for the Clarke Street Precinct Cultural Light Installation in Sunshine and $160,000 for the Victoria Square Lighting Project in St Albans, with delivery to be completed by early 2027.”
A further $250,000 has been secured through the program for streetscape and public space improvements at the St Albans Road local activity centre.
“The funds will used to strengthen each centre’s multicultural identity, improve amenity and perceptions of safety, and contribute to increased visitation and local economic activity,” said Mayor Cr Tachos.
“We’re looking forward to working with local businesses and community to create a more vibrant, welcoming environment for everyone.”
The projects are intended to engage local businesses and to deliver tangible benefits including increased foot traffic, stronger place identity and a more vibrant, welcoming environment for visitors.
