Cultural Diversity Week (17-23 March) is Victoria’s largest multicultural celebration held annually to coincide with the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, also called Harmony Day in Australia, on 21 March.
This year’s theme ‘Embrace the journey – Shape our Future’ goes beyond individual narratives and encourages us to recognise and celebrate the beautiful connections that enrich our culturally diverse community.
It’s a time when we can all share and learn from our cultural stories and those of others, and foster understanding, belonging and unity.
What’s on:
Brimbank Council, in collaboration with partner service providers, will deliver an exciting program of free events for adults, youth and children that celebrate the diversity and proud community spirit in our municipality.
These include storytimes, conversations led by First Nations people, movie screenings, music, and more.
