Dempster Park in Sunshine North is now more inclusive, with welcoming facilities for the whole community including a new female friendly change-rooms, an upgraded kitchen and disabled toilets.
“When we invest in our sporting facilities, it is an investment into the health and wellbeing of our whole community.
“Sport and active recreation not only brings people together and builds community cohesion – it also makes us happier and healthier,” said Mayor of Brimbank Cr Ranka Rasic
Mayor Cr Ranka Rasic joined Ros Spence MP, Member for Kalkallo, and Natalie Suleyman MP, Member for St Albans and members of the North Sunshine Tennis Club to officially open the facilities.
In the past there were no change or disability facilities, and all facilities were not female friendly.
“I look forward to seeing more of our community out there enjoying these fantastic sporting facilities”, said Mayor Cr Ranka Rasic
The new facilities will ensure the site is accessible to all and improve community use and access to the reserve.
