St Albans has an incredible new Children’s Centre with a new two-room kindergarten and three Maternal and Child Health consult rooms.
Officially opened on 17 February, the new multi-purpose centre replaces an ageing building and expands the kindergarten, providing additional sessional kindergarten places for local children.
The delivery of this co-funded facility means more free sessional kindergarten places are available for residents of St Albans, thanks to the Building Block Partnership with the Victorian School Building Authority.
This is the first two-room modular delivered under the Building Block Partnership.
The Victorian Government contributed a $2 million grant for the “Best Start Best Life Reform”. Brimbank Council contributed $524,000 to deliver the project.
There is an increasing demand for sessional kindergarten in our municipality. Council’s central Registration & Enrolment team have registered 2500 children for kindergarten in 2025 across Brimbank.
As part of Kindergarten Readiness Month, Epalock Crescent Kindergarten will be open on Wednesday 19 March for families to explore and learn more about the kindergarten program.

“The construction of the new Epalock Children’s Centre is an important project for the municipality and reflects the increasing needs of this fast-growing community.
“Thank you to the Department of Education for the $2 million grant, which has delivered a new facility to help meet increased demand for kinder.”
