Sunshine Library’s collection of books in Maltese recently expanded thanks to a generous donation from the Maltese Consul General.
At a special event, with local Maltese community members in attendance, Cr Victoria Borg thanked Maltese Consul General, Chirelle Ellul Sciberras for making this donation possible.
Maltese was one of the inaugural language collections of the Sunshine Library back in the early 1980s and there are now over 900 fiction and non-fiction books and a great range of DVDs.
Books in language provide a vital connection to traditions, customs and language. This varied new collection of Maltese books will undoubtedly be enjoyed by many, including young people wishing to connect to their heritage through the first language of their parents and grandparents.
