I feel very passionate about giving back to the community where I’ve lived and raised my family since emigrating from Malta in 1972. Having spent so many years here, I feel very grounded and connected to our city and its people – and as a member of this great community.

From my humble beginnings, I’ve spent many years studying and working alongside the community, and I’m very pleased to have another opportunity to give a voice to the community at a grassroots level, as a Brimbank Councillor.

I love visiting different community groups and getting to know people at events and festivals – and although this has been limited in recent times with COVID-19, I look forward to meeting more people and building relationships in the community.

As we progress through 2021, we’ll continue to support each other throughout the pandemic. Our response and recovery is very much in the forefront as we aim to advocate for the needs of our vulnerable communities, particularly around mental health programs, family support, skills training and digital literacy.

Here at Brimbank we value the rich tapestry of people and their unique cultures and backgrounds, and recognise that these qualities make our community resilient and supportive of one another.

I’m committed to supporting the local community and working on issues that matter the most. In particular, I’m focused on Brimbank youth and creating spaces and places where they can build healthy and constructive connections.

It is vital that we continue to support vulnerable members in our community and our local businesses while we take the necessary steps to respond and recover from the impacts of the pandemic.

I look forward to working together with the community to engage in various issues and topics and help make the community feel heard.

We are making great progress through our recovery efforts led by Council’s COVID-19 Response and Recovery Strategy and the Brimbank 19 Point Plan for COVID Response and Recovery and will continue delivering programs and initiatives to build a thriving city.
