Brimbank City Council is encouraging our community to provide feedback on the State Government’s draft Albion Quarter Structure Plan, a critical next step in shaping the future of the wider Sunshine precinct.
The draft plan outlines a long-term vision for the underused industrial land surrounding Albion Station. It identifies opportunities to support the next generation of jobs, innovation and services, alongside new homes well-connected to public and active transport.
The Plan will guide the future land use transformation of the area from an industrial precinct to a connected, contemporary community focused precinct.
This renewal will be anchored by the redesign and redevelopment of Albion Station which will provide the community with the highly accessible public transport infrastructure needed to support the areas potential residential and commercial growth.
This work is part of the broader Sunshine Station Masterplan, backed by a $143 million State Government investment. This will deliver improved transport connections, new open spaces, and a modern, integrated transport hub at the heart of a growing and dynamic precinct.
Community feedback is now open, and residents, businesses and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to take up the opportunity to have their say and help shape the future of the Albion Quarter.
Council will also be making a submission on the Plan outlining the importance of improving the amenity and accessibility of the area and making it an attractive place for investment and liveability.
Brimbank Mayor Cr Virginia Tachos encouraged people to provide their feedback.
