Keilor Downs Bocce Club upgrade

Facilities at the Green Gully Bocce Club received a significant – and much-needed – $309,463 upgrade under Brimbank Council’s Sports Facility Development Plan.

The Green Gully Bocce Club was identified as a site that was in dire need of an upgrade. Spectators and participants had little or no protection from inclement weather during summer and winter.

Council created a purpose-built shade structure to cover the entire two Bocce Courts and a concrete path on the East and West side that will allow spectators to watch a game without having to stand in mud.

The President of the Keilor Downs Senior Citizens Bocce Club Committee, Anthony, thanked Council for the works saying the improvements had made a huge difference to facility users.

“These improvements have not just enhanced the quality of play but also help promote the club to attract more members from the community,” he said.

Anthony also commended Council’s thoughtful planning and execution and its successful collaboration with club committee members. “It’s heartening to know that our local council is attentive to the needs and desires of its community.”
