Keilor Downs College visit to Brimbank Learning Futures

Job Advocates from Council’s Brimbank Learning Futures supported six Year 10 students from Keilor Downs College explore their career options during a recent visit.

Students were invited to connect with Brimbank City Council representatives, such as those working in Arts and Culture, Economic Development, Building and Maintenance and IT.

The students are currently undertaking intensive work to explore career pathways and employment and our program was designed to align with their current studies.

The session supported students to connect with people and learn about different roles in an informal way, where they could ask questions, listen to stories, and start thinking about how to plan their career journeys.

Brimbank Learning Futures is a place where young people and others in the community can get help with questions about training, education and employment.

Residents are welcome to drop in anytime between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and speak to one of our staff members.

We also have a variety of spaces available for hire at low rates for the community, great for meetings, training sessions, social groups or small events.

We have:

  • a multi-purpose seminar room/auditorium
  • formal and informal learning spaces
  • an IT suite with 8 computers
  • a flexible open learning space.
