Brimbank Mayor Cr Thuy Dang joined other Brimbank Councillors, community and special guests, Ms Luba Grigorovitch, Member for Kororoit, Garry Keenan and committee members of ST Albans Sports Club and Shane McCarter from Cricket Victoria, at St Albans Sports Club in Kings Park, for the official opening of the new multi-purpose cricket nets.
The new multi-purpose cricket nets offer our community access to facilities to train and improve their skills all year round.
Being multi-purpose means this facility can now be used for other sports like netball and soccer, helping to improve access to much needed facilities, and increase sporting participation for our whole community.
This facility was delivered with an investment of $633,000.
Mayor Cr Thuy Dang took the opportunity to thank the Victorian Government and St Albans Sports Clubs for their contribution to the project.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Victorian Government for providing $100,000 towards the project, as part of the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund – Community Cricket Program. And Council appreciates the St Albans Sports Club contributing more than $533,000 for this project,” said Mayor Cr Thuy Dang.
“It’s wonderful to see such investment in sporting facilities in Brimbank, because it’s really an investment into the health and wellbeing of our whole community.”
