Learning for Earning Festival returns on 25-26 May 2022, with a series of free online events which will help participants upskill and look at different pathways to employment.
Participants will gain knowledge in starting or changing careers, learn about leading and emerging industries and discover future opportunities.

Opportunities in the West – Employment Forum
Wednesday 25 May, 10am – 12pm
Proudly presented by the Wyndham Humanitarian Network’s Employment & Training Working Group, this forum will help you gain insights into employment opportunities for local communities.
The event is a great opportunity to connect with employers, industry leaders & employment services.

Meet the Major Employers in the West
Thursday 26 May, 10am – 12pm
Listen to a panel of leaders from major employers in the west about their experiences including:
- the range of different vacancies currently available
- what they look for in applicants
- career paths
- training and qualifications needed.
The webinar will followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
Want to Work in Local Government?
Thursday 26 May, 1:30pm – 3pm
LearnWest Network of Councils have partnered to run an event for people in the north and west of Melbourne who are keen to learn more about:
- working in local government
- the diverse career paths available
- recruitment processes
- how to stand out among other applicants.
Other events
The festival will also feature many smaller events at participating libraries and councils, including:
- resume help sessions
- an effective marketing workshop
- how to promote your small business on social media
- mock job interviews, and more.
Learning for Earning is brought to you by LearnWest, a network of six councils in the North/West – Brimbank City Council, City of Darebin, Hobsons Bay City Council, City of Maribyrnong, Melton City Council, and Wyndham City.
