Local voices take centre stage in Under the Brimbank Sky

The stories, ideas and creativity of Brimbank come to life in Under the Brimbank Sky – a new collection of poems by local writers.

Inspired by the theme of ‘Brimbank’, the collection showcases the unique perspectives of people with a connection to the area, giving local writers a chance to see their work published and shared with the wider community.

Brimbank Mayor Cr Virginia Tachos said Under the Brimbank Sky captures the creativity and character of our community through the eyes of local writers.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local talent and discover the stories and perspectives that help make Brimbank such a special place,” Mayor Tachos said.

“Reading these poems is a real delight. Each one offers a fresh perspective and a little glimpse into what Brimbank means to the people who know it best.”

The free, not-for-profit booklet will be available across the municipality at venues including libraries, community centres and neighbourhood houses, and the Bowery Theatre in St Albans.

The collection is curated and produced by Creative Brimbank, which brings artists and the community together through creative programs, workshops, festivals and events – helping make the arts part of everyday life in Brimbank.
