Australia’s largest sustainability and community festival is back in 2021 and bigger than ever.
The Garage Sale Trail is a festival of pre-loved shopping. Throughout the event, residents are welcome to sell items they no longer need, and shop for pre-loved gems.
The annual event encourages residents to make and save money, and reduce waste.
In 2020, over 250,000 Australians hosted a garage sale or shopped as part of the festival. Together, they extended the life of over 1.5 million kgs of goods, saving these items from landfill and maximising their value.
This year, the event is happening over two big online weekends to ensure Brimbank residents can conveniently and safely shop from the comfort of their home.
Brimbank Mayor Cr Ranka Rasic praised the eco-friendly event, and encouraged Brimbank residents to get involved.
“Virtual garage sales are perfect for those missing their second-hand shopping fix or looking for a way to bring home some extra cash from all the things they’ve set aside for reselling over lockdown,” said Cr Rasic.
One week prior to the sale, online tutorials will run educating residents in online buying and selling. The free sessions are hosted by experts from the world of fashion, styling, finance and sustainability.
Residents can register for the Garage Sale Trail for no charge today via the Garage Sale Trail website.
