Making a difference in your community starts here – Join us

By Michael Casha – Deputy Controller, Members

The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) Brimbank Unit is currently recruiting new members for our August 2022 intake.

Volunteering can be an enriching and fulfilling experience. It provides an opportunity to learn new skills, develop close friendships and experience new challenges while helping your local community.

Last year the Brimbank SES Unit responded to over 630 calls for assistance, with 312 of those calls being received during the storm that hit our community during the last week of October 2022. VICSES Brimbank Unit also supports other emergency services including Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police, as well as deploying to other communities across Australia during times of need.

VICSES Brimbank is fully run by volunteers from all walks of life and all ages. Our volunteers are highly trained and dedicated to making the community safer – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We have teachers working alongside electricians, retirees and marketers. Our volunteers make a real difference in the Brimbank community.

Volunteers train one night per week and are on call to respond two nights a week – with many more opportunities to attend fundraising and community education events. From floods, storms, search and rescue and much more – there’s a position for everyone at VICSES.
