Men’s Health Week 2023

Whether you are looking for tips on improving your exercise routine, looking for information on health matters or just wanting to build stronger connections with your family, Men’s Health Week in Brimbank could be the answer.

Men’s Health Week takes place from 12-18 June 2023. This annual worldwide is a call to action about the health and wellbeing needs and issues that relate to men and boys.

This year’s theme is Healthy Habits – focusing on encouraging men and boys to build healthy habits by identifying small changes they can make that benefit their health and wellbeing.

The City of Brimbank is proud to support the range of activities happening this week, events that include cooking, exercise, social connection, family connection and art across various sites in Brimbank.

These activities are aimed at supporting improved mental wellbeing, healthy eating, active living and physical activity and support economic and social inclusion.

Main event

This year the main event happens on Thursday15 June at the Westvale Community Centre. Join us in this event to celebrate Men’s Health Week 2023 with guest speakers, Tom Boyd, former AFL premiership player and advocate for mental health and Cr Thomas O’Reilly.

The event features a *Health Checks *Hearing Checks *Massages *Health information Stalls *Council services *CPR Lab *15 min Group Fitness come and try sessions * Tai Chi Demonstration *Raffle *Spinning Wheel *Sausage Sizzle!!

Local football star and author Tom Boyd will shares his story with mental health and the techniques he used during his AFL career and continues to use, in order to achieve happiness and balance.

Men’s Health is a focus all year round

All year round, Council provides and supports a range of services to support the health and wellbeing needs of men in the community.

These include enhancement and improvement to open spaces for exercise and recreation, parks, walking and riding paths, ongoing support to sporting clubs, community strengthening grants and a comprehensive community wellbeing program delivered all year round across Brimbank in Neighbourhood Houses, Leisure Centres and Libraries and Centres as well as volunteering opportunities.
