Message from Mayor Cr Bruce Lancashire

It is an honour and a privilege to be elected the 2022-2023 Mayor of Brimbank, and I look forward to serving the Brimbank community.

Local government is in my blood. Before being elected as a Councillor, I was employed in local government and I look back fondly on that experience.

As an elected representative, and as Mayor, I stand strongly for our city and its people.

While Council has achieved a lot, there also remains much to do – and with the support of my fellow Councillors, I look forward to continuing to work actively for a better Brimbank.

I’d like to invite you to take part in some key activities that are coming up soon.

Council is holding a Reusable Goods Drop off Day on 3 December, and you can drop off unwanted household items for reuse, at Stadium Drive, Keilor Park. Items in good condition will be donated to a local charity, West Welcome Wagon, which supports refugees and asylum seekers.

With the festive season just around the corner, we’re making sure it will be a December to Remember.

Festive lights, Santa and roving performers are part of the celebrations. There will also be celebrations in Sunshine and Keilor to enjoy. You can also come by and have a chat with your local Councillors at these events, look out for the Let’s Talk Brimbank pop ups there.

You’ll find more information on all these events on our website.

And that’s it from me for now.

Take care, and stay well.

On 17 November Councillors Bruce Lancashire and Ranka Rasic were elected to hold the roles Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the next 12 months.
