Plastic Free July

Single-use plastics make up a third of the litter we see in our streets, parks and waterways – where they cause harm to wildlife and our health.

Plastic Free July aims to reduce plastic waste globally through a social change movement; by sharing ideas, positive actions and stories of change.

Here’s a few things almost anyone can do during Plastic Free July:

  • Carry reusable bags and water bottles when you leave home
  • Avoid single-use plastic
  • Join the Plastic Free July Challenge to get more ideas and support.

As part of Plastic Free July, Brimbank Council is delivering an online workshop for residents about how they can transition from single use plastics to reusable alternatives. Founder of the Urban Nanna, Anna Gibbons, will facilitate the workshop.

What: Small Waste Changes – Big Impacts

When: 23 July, 9.30–11am

Where: Online, visit Council’s events page to learn more and register.
