Rock and Water is a social skills program for young people living in Brimbank or going to school in Brimbank.
The free program helps young people, aged 11 to 14 years old, learn skills to develop mental strength, confidence, and self-belief. It runs for six weeks at Sunshine Library and starts on Wednesday 28 May 2025, 4-5pm.
The program builds on the complementary strengths of ‘the rock’ and ‘the water’. One is firm and assertive, and the other is flexible and willing to cooperate.
Fun and engaging exercises will help young people learn about:
- Control
- Focus
- Balance
- Letting go
- Assertiveness
- Body language
- Communication
- Safety
- Personal boundaries, and
- Mental strength.
