The Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre’s first birthday celebrations

It’s been a year since the state-of-the-art Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre opened its doors, and celebrations will take place on site on Sunday, 10 September from 12pm to 5pm.

To celebrate our first birthday, all casual entries on 10 September will enjoy complimentary access to our two huge waterslides, water polo sessions and the aqua inflatable. There will also be many other fun and free activities from 12pm to 5pm for kids and families, including face painting, dry games and music.

The Brimbank Mayor, Cr Bruce Lancashire, says, “We look forward to seeing you at the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre on 10 September, to celebrate the centre’s first year anniversary. Since opening its doors, the centre has quickly become a favourite destination for families and fitness seekers.”

With over 1 million visitors, 10,000 memberships and around 3,000 children and adults enrolling in the swim school to date, the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre has truly exceeded all expectations.

The world-class facility offers a place where people can exercise, be healthy, have fun, and also access co-located community services from Council’s venue partners: CommUnity+, Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and Distinctive Options.

Over the past year, the centre has won several awards, including:

  • National Sports and Physical Activity Convention – Sports and Leisure Facility Design Award
  • Parks and Leisure Australia Awards – Vic/Tas Regional Awards of Excellence – Environmental Stewardship
  • Parks and Leisure Australia Awards – Vic/Tas Regional Awards of Excellence – Community Facility of the Year
  • Aquatics and Recreation Victoria 2023 Sustainability Award

The Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre also boasts some impressive energy efficient credentials. It has a Green Star Design Review rating, and is the first all-electric aquatic centre in Australia.

“It’s great to see how thoroughly our community has embraced the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre, as a place to exercise, be healthy and have fun, all under the one roof!” says Cr Lancashire.
