Here is an opportunity for you to be part of the Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival in 2022 – the Story Stroll project.
The Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival is back in 2022, and the date to mark in your calendar is 17-26 March. The 10-day festival will include in-real-life and online events to cater to our diverse community.
One of the new features of the event is the Story Stroll project. This project invites local residents to submit a story (about 200 words) on one of the following themes:
- I am…
- We are…
- Brimbank is…
Local stories selected will be displayed in three Brimbank shopping strips as part of a trail to promote the Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival.
The project aims to:
- give community members an opportunity to participate in the Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival
- promote the festival in our shopping strips
- share residents’ original stories in their first language
- encourage people back into local shopping strips to support small business.

Submissions are now open until Sunday 16 January.
You’ll find details and submission guidelines on the Brimbank Libraries website.
Also, remember to keep an eye out on the Brimbank Council and Brimbank Libraries websites as we get closer to the launch date at brimbank.vic.gov.au and brimbanklibraries.vic.gov.au to learn more about the great authors and events that will be part of the festival.
