Council has partnered with Western Melbourne Tourism and the four other western suburbs councils to deliver a new website – lovewestside.com.au – which aims to increase tourist numbers to Brimbank and across Melbourne’s west.
“Lovewestside.com.au a great resource for people planning to visit the west, and for those of us who might be looking for things to see and do and at the same time spend our tourism dollars locally,” said Mayor of Brimbank Cr Thuy Dang.
“There are so many appealing attractions across the west, Love Westside is a great new platform to showcase what’s on offer and a great way to help guide your experience from how to get here to what else is on offer nearby,” said Mayor Dang.
The new and easy to navigate website aims to captures the distinctive vibe of Melbourne’s westside by showcasing the many places to eat and drink, things to see and do, events happening and places to stay across the west.
Developed by Western Melbourne Tourism alongside award-winning developer ROAM, the Love Westside platform features interactive maps and curated content covering the cities of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Moonee Valley, Melton and Wyndham.
Scott Chapman AM, Chair of the Western Melbourne Tourism Board, says Love Westside will further cement Melbourne’s west as a must-visit tourist destination, whilst also serving as a strong driver for the local visitor economy.
“Love Westside celebrates the vibrant and diverse culture of Melbourne’s west. It captures the very essence of the region – a blend of culture, creativity, and innovation,” he said.
In addition to inspiring potential visitors, Love Westside gives them the tools to plan a trip to the west with an easy to navigate map and practical advice on public transport connections, including by train, boat, bike, or car.
