Brimbank is changing how waste and recycling is collected in line with the Victorian Government’s new laws that require households to have four bins by July 2027.
On Saturday 25 October, 34 members of the Brimbank Community Voice panel spent the day exploring State Waste Reform requirements and what this means for Council services.
The panel also discussed the community’s priorities for balancing cost, convenience and environmental benefits of Council’s future waste services.
At the end of the workshop, the panel presented a report to Brimbank Mayor, Cr Thuy Dang.
The insights provided will help shape Council officer recommendations on the future implementation of new waste and recycling service models for Brimbank.
Council will make a formal decision on the rollout in early 2026, and more information and educational programs will be shared with the community.
