Now in it’s fourth year, the We Are Brimbank Awards celebrate the pride and potential of our city. The awards publicly recognise the exceptional contributions, hard work and determination of organisations and groups that make a positive difference within Brimbank.
This year, the Employment & Enterprise Award was presented to Café Sunshine & SalamaTea. This award demonstrates an outstanding contribution to the prosperity of Brimbank.
Founded in 2019, Café Sunshine & SalamaTea has created a thriving and sustainable social enterprise that supports refugees, asylum seekers and recent migrants in Sunshine through employment and training opportunities.
Visitors to the café are able to connect with these refugees and asylum seekers, while enjoying incredible Persian food.
Café Sunshine’s community hub not only offers employment, but training opportunities. They host over 300 cooking classes and barista training courses for refugees/asylum seekers and recent migrants.
