Brimbank Council unanimously adopted the new We Are Brimbank Council Plan 2025-2029 at its October Council Meeting, setting a clear and united vision for the community over the next four years.
The plan sets out Council’s priorities and strategic direction to help build ‘A proud and vibrant Brimbank that is beautiful, thriving, healthy and connected’.
We Are Brimbank is well-timed as Brimbank steps into a transformative and energising chapter for the city, with over $4 billion in committed State and Federal funding and $2 billion already invested in major infrastructure. This includes upgrades across transport, health, education, and residential development.
A ‘future city’ lens in the plan sets the direction for sustainable growth, ensuring Brimbank is a vibrant, liveable, and inclusive place for people and businesses. Future-focused planning will inform private and public investment and the delivery of infrastructure and services.
Health and wellbeing are a core part of the plan, ensuring fairness, access, and a better future for all are at the heart of everything Council does.
Priorities include improving mental wellbeing, addressing food insecurity and healthy eating, improving gender equality, supporting social and economic inclusion, supporting active and healthy living and addressing the health impacts of climate change.
Community ideas and feedback played a big part in developing the We Are Brimbank plan, with input from almost 500 community members helping to form the plan’s key initiatives.
Brimbank Mayor, Cr Thuy Dang, said the Plan would help shape the city’s future.
“Whether it’s planning for growth, improving services, or strengthening the things that make our community thrive and We Are Brimbank is how we’ll move forward, together,” Cr Dang said.
“We are grateful to everyone who took the time to contribute feedback throughout the plan’s development – your input truly made a difference.
“Council now looks forward to putting the plan into action and to build a stronger and thriving Brimbank now and into the future.”
