The Westvale Men’s Shed in Kings Park is set for a major upgrade as work begins on a new and expanded facility that will more than double the size of the current building.
The new facility will provide a modern, accessible and welcoming space designed to support social connection, wellbeing and community participation.
Construction will take place from June to September 2026, with the expanded facility providing significantly more room for participants to connect, share skills, and build lasting friendships in a safe and supportive environment.
The upgrade reflects Brimbank City Council’s commitment to supporting community wellbeing and reducing social isolation, particularly as demand for social connection programs continues to grow across our community.
For the safety of participants and contractors, the Men’s Shed will be closed during the construction period. Council will work closely with current participants to provide alternative arrangements and help them stay connected.
Once complete, community members and participants will be invited to celebrate the official opening of the new facility, with opportunities to register their interest and become involved in the Men’s Shed program.
The Westvale Men’s Shed expansion project has been granted $100,000 through the Victorian Government’s 2025-26 Men’s Shed Funding Program.
The Westvale Community Centre, located near the Men’s Shed in Kings Park, will remain open during the works.
