Winners announced for the 2022 Celebrate Brimbank: We Are Brimbank Awards

Brimbank Council announced the winners of the 2022 Celebrate Brimbank: We Are Brimbank Awards at a special ceremony hosted by Mayor Cr Jasmine Nguyen, at the Luxor in Sydenham on Friday 28 October.

The annual awards recognise the exceptional contributions, hard work and determination of organisations and community groups making a positive difference in the community.

A panel of independent community leaders judged the nominations across five categories, and the winners are:

Culture, Arts and Tourism Award

Winner:  Utsav Melbourne Association

Employment and Enterprise Award

Joint winners: Brotherhood of St Laurence Jobs Victoria Program Sunshine Office and VET Resources

Environment and Sustainability Award

Joint winners: St Albans Saints Soccer Club and Cynthia Frain Horseshoe Bend Community Group

Inclusive Brimbank Award

Winner: IPC Health

Learning Excellence Award

Winner: Hester Hornbrook Academy

Mayoral Award

There was also a Youth Impact Award chosen by the Mayor and awarded to Africa Day Australia Inc.

 

The We Are Brimbank Awards pay tribute to the extraordinary groups and organisations making a positive difference in our community.

This year’s winners include organisations that have helped the long-term unemployed find work, improved educational excellence, provided positive cultural experiences, delivered essential health services, and protected the environment.

We congratulate all the award winners and nominees and thank them for their efforts in making Brimbank a better place to live, work and play.
