Temporary closure of St Albans Library

St Albans Library will be undergoing minor building works to improve the library layout and maximise the flexibility of the floorplan for seating and programming.

For public safety reasons, St Albans library will be closed on Monday 5 September for construction works to commence. The library is expected to reopen Tuesday 6 September.

During the closure customers will have access to:

  • Click and Collect
  • Click and Collect Printing
  • Staff assistance provided from front of library
  • 24 hour access to the online library to:
    • Renew and reserve items
    • Borrow eBooks and e-Audio books
    • Access electronic databases and resources

The After Hours book return chute will remain open during the temporary closure for customers to return their library items.

For customers needing to use public computers and study spaces, the Deer Park, Keilor, Sunshine and Sydenham Libraries will be operating as usual.

The closest library is Deer Park library, where customers may access the public computer room and study booths.

Whilst the library will be closed for one day, it is anticipated that the works will take one week to complete. During the construction phase we anticipate that there will be noise disruptions at this time.

We apologise for the inconvenience.
