Artists impression of one option for the upgrade of Derrimut Street, Albion

Have your say on upgrades to Derrimut Street, Albion

Brimbank community members are invited to provide feedback on two proposed designs for an upgrade to Derrimut Street between Sydney and Adelaide streets in Albion.

Council is focused on keeping our communities safe and creating streets that are functional and inviting spaces for people – not just cars. We want to know which of these designs to make it easier to walk or cycle, exercise, and catch public transport, is preferred.

The upgraded streetscape will improve safety and amenities for pedestrians and cyclists, reduce traffic in the area, and create a greener and quieter street for locals. The proposed upgrades include:

  • Landscaped kerb extensions
  • Cycling lanes
  • Pocket park at Lawson St and Derrimut St intersection
  • Raised zebra crossings and improved traffic flow

Derrimut Street is an important local connection for pedestrians and cyclists travelling from Albion to Albion train station, and is part of the Albion Neighbourhood Plan and the Brimbank Cycling and Walking Strategy.
